Mount Franklin

Nestled into the lower slopes of Mount Franklin and overlooking the majestic vistas of Franklinford, Mount Franklin house casts a sharp, angular figure, set against the imposing backdrop of the pine-tree covered mount.

Capturing breathtaking views

Nestled into the lower slopes of Mount Franklin and overlooking the majestic vistas of Franklinford, Mount Franklin house casts a sharp, angular figure, set against the imposing backdrop of the pine-tree covered mount.

Cut into steep terrain, Ark Group has strived to address the challenges of the build, being to offer a harmonious interplay between the steep site, new home and a breathtaking iconic aspect of the area.

Design

Designed into two adjoining wings, the main living, kitchen and master bedroom takes advantage of the north-east solar gain, whilst taking in the breathtaking panorama.

The Layout

The remaining bedrooms, guest and utilities are situated in the adjacent wing.  A glazed vestibule connects the two wings, which leads onto the front cantilevered viewing deck.

Materials

Grounded on a blockwork base, the main building form cantilevers out to provide a semi-floating effect.

A combination of vertical standing seam metal cladding, Spotted Gum timber and glass, contrasts against the metallic Alucobond eave finishes.
