Panoramas from every space of the home
Large red-gum trees are also prevalent to the perimeter of the building site, a well noted feature of the area. The primary focus of the design was to draw upon these aspects to invite the panoramas into every space of the home.
Aspect
Centrally, the enclosed vestibule entry provides an inviting intrigue into the building, focusing the occupant toward the southern ranges.
The Living Areas
From this point, the kitchen and living areas lead off to the east, whilst the remaining spaces are located to the western wing. All living areas, study and master bedroom receive northern aspect and east light. The house is predictable, yet seeks to be complimentary of the rural surrounds, in particular, the farm buildings and outbuildings.
Materials
To further enhance this premise, the use of varying roof profiles were adopted, with suggestive use of iron cladding. A galvanised corrugated roof further typifies the rural nature of the area.
